We sincerely invite you to register for Open Lectures – free-of-charge lectures given by world-leading scientists – that will commence the UCRA3 conference:

  • Marie Curie Lecture “Innovation by Evolution: Bringing New Chemistry to Life” by Prof. Frances H. Arnold on September 17th, 2024 at 17.00.
  • Lecture titled “Mars, MOXIE, and the Future of Human Space Flight” by Prof. Jeffrey A. Hoffman on September 18th, 2024 at 9.00.

Prof. Frances H. Arnold is the Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering and Biochemistry at the California Institute of Technology (USA). In 2018, Professor Arnold received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for pioneering directed evolution methods used to make enzymes for applications in sustainable chemistry across medicine, consumer products, agriculture, fuels, and chemicals.

Jeffrey A. Hoffman is a professor in MIT’s Aeronautics and Astronautics Department. As a NASA astronaut (1978–1997) he made five space flights, becoming the first astronaut to log 1000 hours of flight time aboard the Space Shuttle.

The lectures will take place in the Rektorska 4 building at Warsaw University of Technology, Warsaw, Poland. Attendance is free of charge. Number of seats limited.
