Host Faculty and University
Warsaw University of Technology is Poland’s oldest and biggest technical university. It builds upon the traditions of Polish technical universities that used to function in Warsaw – the Polytechnic Institute founded in 1826 thanks to the efforts of Stanisław Staszic and the School of Hipolit Wawelberg and Stanisław Rotwand established in 1895. Warsaw University of Technology started on its own in 1915 thanks to the efforts of the Association for Scientific Courses and the Citizens’ Committee of the City of Warsaw. Working uninterruptedly, the University has been producing generations of graduates and has had an increasing number of scientific and technical achievements.

Warsaw University of Technology is composed of 19 Faculties and one College. One of those is the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, which is locally responsible for organizing the UCRA3 conference. The history of chemical and process engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology began in 1947 when the Chair of Chemical Engineering was established at the Faculty of Chemistry, headed by Prof. Janusz Ciborowski. In 1973, several chairs of the Faculty of Chemistry were transformed into an independent Institute of Chemical Engineering, which currently functions as the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering. Since 1975, the Faculty has had its headquarters in the building at Waryńskiego 1 Street.
The Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology is the leading faculty in Poland that conducts studies and research in chemical and process engineering. It has a firmly established, solid position and reputation in Europe and the world.
